School Office
If you are in PTA or in charge of the front office area, I loved this idea. Ask each teacher to bring their favorite book and have their pictures taken. I liked the different colored backgrounds which really lit up that boring brick wall. It was just outside the school office and I always see kids looking at each of the pictures.

Teacher and Principal Appreciation Ideas
I was the parent helper in charge of Principals Day and on the committee for Teacher Appreciation Week. Here's what we came up with for this year.
TEACHERS ARE CELEBRITIES
First, I worked with the student council to create a gossip-type magazine to pass out that week. It included a survey to the teachers, a "What's in your purse?" section for the school secretaries, pictures of the teachers looking like movie stars and movie trivia.
The school was decked out in movie decorations with stars, red carpet, and movie posters. The principal was the director with a megaphone and his own golf cart for the day. School secretaries were movie stars and all glammed up. It was a big hit!
Finally, to earn some gift baskets, teachers were asked to come to the lunch room on their free time and earn raffle tickets for the gift baskets by singing karaoke. There was quite a turn out and the kids loved jamming with their teacher.

Kindergarten Walking Report Card
This was a great example of what is called a "Kindergarten Walking Report Card" at my son's school. There are centers around the room with written directions and activities for the students to show their parents. Once a center is complete, the student puts a sticker on a center's card to fill up and earn a big, fat donut. Informative for parents and fun for the kids.
