Knowing

Did you know that there are different ways of "knowing?"  These excerpts talk about how teachers affect how a child uses their power to help a student obey or truly "know." I've realized that I'm a "Separate Knower" as described below.

5th grade Student Led Conferences

This was a great example of how to run parent/teacher/student conferences in a center format.

Bernie and Ert!

My sister got us these cool puppets from a thrift store.  What a find!  I love the hair!

Makes me want to watch a few clips...

Sometimes I just get in the mood for a little Ernie and Bert or as we often mixup...Bernie and Ert.

Paperless

From my friend on FB:
I am sad to see us go to so much technology...what is better than reading a book that a loved one has marked in the margins their thoughts and seeing the well worn pages of a good book. To see the beautiful handwriting of our children and watch as it develops and becomes their mark.....Doodles, love notes, messages in bottles or lunch bags.....

Principal's Day

For this years Principal and Secretaries Day, I was in charge again.  We went with the Superhero theme.  I was able to get a local Segway store to donate for the day, a Segway because every superhero needs a fancy vehicle, right?  It was a big success.  Thanks for your hard work!
