Cruise Day

My son's class had a great end of school year activity called "Cruise Day" which integrated activities throughout the day, a buffet of snacks and games.  He talked about it for a month before and months after.  Themes are the way to go!

In my sons class, they complete various requirement of attendance, outside reading, memorization of grammar poems and other things.  If they do some of it, they earn a Bachelors degree at the end of the year, most of it earns a Master's degree, and completing all of it earns a doctorate.  Here's his trophy for this doctorate.  He beat me and is the families first "Dr."

Timpanogos Renaissance Festival

For girl scouts, my daughter was asked to do a service project by volunteering at the Timpanogos Renaissance Festival.  She helped make rope made of old fabric.  We followed that up with some snow cones and a walk around the park.  Fun and free for volunteers.

Wax Museum

My son was assigned a US President for the 5th grade Wax Museum.  He researched and memorized a paragraph about him.  On the big day, he dressed up fancy and the parents were invited to attend.  He was so cute posing like a statue and changing positions when the teacher rang the bell.  All the kids were so serious about it!  The teacher walked around the room and would push their button to hear each student recite their information.  It was a great social studies activity!

This is my son Miles drawing from preschool.  Can you guess what it is?

He is standing in a field of flowers.

Pretty good for a five year old!
